It is a very expensive paperweight. They could also not confirm either way if I would incur a "restocking" fee. Even though some product descriptions offer this for the blackberry 8330, it is NOT compatible. Also, the new company and return policy was laughable, they were unclear as to how or when my credit card would even be credited for the buy. I don't recommend buying this as it is an obsolete item, with ZERO customer support. If you go to the website and update, you find the company went out of business, and the new company no longer intends to update this product, so from 8330 curve models and up (i.e. storm) this product is totally NO GOOD.
It is only for older models. I just purchased a Blackberry Storm and had no idea what operating system it used. When I revisited the product description, I see now that it is not for recent Blackberries.David Berg I just threw away my money as it was my fault. I should have done my research as this product was discontinued several years ago. There is no support for it and the company who made it, iGO, has nobody on staff to provide any help nor have they developed any updated software.Don't do as I did, and think that this will work with any Blackberry product.
Yes, you heard me correctly. Period.What's more, after using the installation disk included with the keyboard,I found my blackberry Storm will freeze and require a hard boot restart toregain functionality. Silly me, I didn't research the manufacturer's background, so lesson learned.That being said, allow me to explain. Therein lies the issue.The company, Think outside, no longer supports this product or even lists softwarefor integration and installation.
Currently, I'm awaiting the delivery of the Freedom keyboard.Let's just hope that isn't a complete failure as well. Not to consider it a lost cause, I initialized pairingwith my stepdad's blackberry curve 8830. So I leave you with this:If you still use an out-dated piece of technology like prehistoric Palm Pilots,this product is for you. I sure wish I could rate this0 stars. If not, you'd be better off fushing your money downthe toilet, as I have. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FOR THE BLACKBERRY STORM.It simply won't work.
His froze too. I definately would have. This product is dated and probably a precursorto other current keyboards like it, the Freedom keyboard, for example. You simply can't find anything online.
From there it just drops out of sight. I still have not recieved this item. Can't be found. Could you please assist me in tracking this item down. I have been in contact with the postal service and they say it was shipped to the wrong address then forwarded but to the wrong address again.
Looks like it would be great to use, unfortunately the tech in my company's IT department couldn't get it to work with the Enterprise server.
